(Therapist/Anyone) I read this from the point of view of a therapist (always on the lookout for a good book recommendation for clients). I thought this was an excellent book on grief for someone who is grieving, or someone who needs to support a griever in their life. Megan Devine handles the topic with empathy and compassion and gives a much better overview than we’ve had in the past with older “schools of thought” on grief and grieving. It’s a tough topic, and at one point or another, will be applicable to all of us. We can all use some This book paired well with The Year of Magical Thinking by Joan Didion, another powerful and honest exploration of grief that captures the nonlinear and often surreal experience of loss.
