I love owls and I love a deep dive on a specific topic. This “deep dive” was just so-so. I don’t know how else to describe it besides- not that interesting. It felt like it was more about the people who spend their lives studying owls versus about owls. I learned interesting facts about owls from the read but felt like it could be summarized in an article instead of an entire book. Perhaps my expectations were too high, but I’d hoped to come away with surprising little-known facts about the inner life of owls. Instead it was more like “Owls are cool raptors that fly really quietly, have silly babies with funny legs, are generally monogamous, and find burrowls or hollows to make their home.”
