I’ve never read nor seen an adaptation of Little Women, which felt wrong to me because it’s, well, it’s a classic. I was determined to read the physical book (I have a beautiful copy that’s been sitting on my shelf for years). I was so. bored. I got about 20% through, which took me forever because it was so boring so I kept avoiding sitting down to read. The first part just felt too…cheerful and unrealistic. I decided I would try switiching to an audio version to see if that helped and I spent a long time researching which version to listen to because there are so many. I found one narrated by Laura Dern that is fully casted and decided to go with that one and it was fabulous. The production quality was so great. I ended up loving the book and the characters- once we got past the unrealistically good-natured beginning. If this is a favorite you already love and want a re-read, try the Laura Dern audio version!
