“The Ogress and the Orphans” made it onto my book club list, and honestly, it’s not something I would have picked up on my own. I ended up liking it more than I thought I would, but I still rated it a bit lower because YA isn’t really my thing. The book feels really relevant right now with everything going on politically. It’s about this kind and gentle ogress who gets unfairly turned into a villain. The whole town starts to fall apart—everyone becomes more selfish and suspicious, influenced by their greedy leader. It’s a solid reminder to not judge others based on appearances and to work together instead of apart.
