I really liked The House in the Cerulean Sea, but I loved this one. It felt deeper, more layered—like the characters had even more richness and the worldbuilding took on a life of its own. The lore is expansive, but never overwhelming, and the story is filled with warmth, love, and acceptance. It’s the kind of book that makes you feel better about the world just by spending time in it.

Definitely read Cerulean Sea first, this book builds on that foundation, but Somewhere Beyond the Sea is absolutely worth your time. It’s beautiful, hopeful, and exactly the kind of story we need more of.
