I am still processing this one. Wren and Luis get married and are excited to enjoy their first year of marriage when things take an unexpected, and very weird, turn. Luis is diagnosed with an irreversible mutation and will eventually turn into a great white shark. (Mutations are something that happen in this world.)
It is a story about grief, anger, and acceptance. It is funny and definitely unique. It was not too long, and I only finished it today, but I think I will be looking back on it for a while because it feels deeply layered.
Strange premise, beautiful execution. A tender, surreal love story about transformation, loss, and acceptance.
