I listened to this one on audio, which made it especially fun with all the Welsh accents. A Game of Lies is a detective mystery set in a small town in Wales, centered around a survival-style reality show filmed in the nearby mountains. When one of the contestants goes missing, the investigation begins.
There are quite a few characters to keep track of, which felt a little confusing at first, but as the story unfolds and we start to learn more about each character, the potential motives become more interesting. I liked the premise and the tension between the public personas of the contestants and who they actually are.
Overall, a fun, twisty mystery with a great setting. If you enjoy detective stories with multiple points of view and a bit of reality TV drama energy, this was an enjoyable read.
