This was a book club read (not my pick), and it ultimately was not really for me. The subtitle, Lessons Learned While Staying Put, intrigued me, and the first couple of chapters felt aligned with that premise. After that, though, it started to feel more like loosely connected memoir-style chapters that didn’t quite deliver on what the subtitle promised.
I wonder if this book might land differently for someone who was already familiar with Jones. She has a podcast, owns a bookstore, and seems to have a strong presence on Instagram, which may add context or depth for existing fans.
I didn’t hate it, but I also didn’t like it.
