This was my first Kevin Wilson novel, and it was heartfelt and fun at the same time. Four children of the same runaway father (but different mothers) find each other and decide the best course of action is to track down the father who left each of them living completely different lives and confront him.
Armed with a PT Cruiser, adrenaline, and the strange new feeling of having siblings, they set off on a road trip that is equal parts chaotic and meaningful. The dynamic between the siblings, who have nothing in common except the father who abandoned them, is what really makes the story work.
At its heart, this is a novel about found family and the lingering question many of us carry: Who am I, really? How much of us comes from where we came from, and how much do we get to decide for ourselves?
A book that is humorous or makes you laugh
