A critical look at bureaucracy and how it’s holding the U.S. back from its full potential when it comes to innovation. I appreciated the balanced perspective, the authors clearly lay out how both the right and the left have contributed to the problem. We’re essentially shooting ourselves in the foot, spending more money navigating red tape than on actual progress.

The book offers a hopeful vision of what could be, while examining the systems that have brought us to this point. I learned a lot, especially about housing policy (and its role in homelessness), the rail system, and medical innovation. Informative and thought-provoking—a great read.
