Written very much for fans of The Princess Bride. If you’re not a fan of the film, I’m not sure why you’d pick this up. That said, even if you only have a passing interest, this book is still a lot of fun.
I listened to the audiobook, which is absolutely the way to go. Cary Elwes narrates it himself, and many of the other actors read their own parts as well. Hearing everyone’s voices and memories made it feel especially charming and personal.
Beyond the nostalgia, I really enjoyed learning about the making of the movie and everything that went into it. Cary does a great job retelling the story with warmth, humor, and lots of great behind-the-scenes anecdotes. A fun, lighthearted read and a perfect choice if you’re looking for something joyful and easy.
