I loved it. I recently read another TJR book, Maybe In Another Life, and I can’t believe the same person wrote both of these books. The actual storyline, honestly, isn’t that exciting but it’s written so well and so realistically you find yourself engrossed. It’s the history of a (fictional) band being born, The Six, and how another singer, Daisy Jones, joined their band and recorded a hit album. The characters are real and raw. This book was written from the perspective of every person from the band recounting the events of their time together years ago. I loved how all the accounts layered on top of one another, and how details often differed from one acccount to another. It’s the story of rock and roll, addiction, love, self discipline, sexism, sex, talent, aging, and choices. I love how some of TJR’s books are written in the same universe and there will be little Easter eggs of overlap. Mick Rivas shows up in this one, Carrie Soto showed up in Malibu Rising. Now I need to read Carrie Soto to see what Easter eggs are in that one! Daisy Jones has to show up there, right?
