This is a quick read and so beautifully written. It’s a window into our main character’s life, thoughts, feelings, and how she navigates the twists and turns of life. Let me put it this way, romance is not my favorite genre, partly because I tire of the happily ever after. This book is not that. It felt so raw and real, which it is what I loved. The prose is not overdone and also at times cryptic. The main character, “the wife”, as she refers to herself, feels so relatable to me. It’s not a feel-good, so if that’s what you’re in the mood for, move along, It is beautiful, tragic, and real.
