What a journey! This is the second book in the Red Rising series. It felt like the same world but a much different pace and focus. This book was dredged in political dribble and astral combat, two things I find hard to follow. I thought it was excellent and always find myself rooting for Darrow. We get to learn about a lot more of the colors in the book, the history of the color system and the interactions between the colors. Like I said, combat, in any form (but especially space combat turns out) is really difficult for my brain to track. I’m glad I chose to read this book in the physical format vs listening to it because I had to re-read paragraphs often to grasp what was going on. So many fun twists and turns. The ending is definitely a cliff hanger and I can’t wait to pick up the third book!
