The fourth installment in the charming Thursday Murder Club series. Osman knocked it out of the park, again! I don’t throw out a perfect 10 very often and he’s riding a 4/4 from me. He managed to dig even deeper into the histories of our favorite pensioners that gives more light on who they are how they ended up where they did. I actually cried in this one (I don’t remember crying in the other ones). He hits on some pretty deep, and possibly controversial, themes in the book, like self-admistered euthanasia and the meaning of life. I thought it was handled with such masterful care and he gave voice through the characters, of different viewpoints and beliefs on choices a lot of us will face at one point in our lives- either for ourself or a loved one. Joyce really gets to shine in this one, and is quite proud of herself. I find the writing so funny I laugh out loud multiple times a chapter (and the chapters are so short). I flew through this book in a matter of a couple days and can’t wait for the next one. Will recommend this one until I annoy everyone around me.
