“The Man Who Could Move Clouds” was an interesting read for me. I generally enjoy memoirs, and this one offered a good glimpse into Colombian culture and history through the personal story of Ingrid. It explores how her experiences reflect her mother’s battle with amnesia. We also get a deep look into the life of Ingrid’s grandfather, who was a healer. The story is sprinkled with what might seem like magical surrealism, but it feels so ingrained in the Colombian cultural context that it comes across as simply part of the narrative landscape.
