Still on my Bill Bryson kick. This is about the history, etymology, and linguistics of the English language. I absolutely loved it and thought it was fascinating. Definitely not for everyone, but if you are interested in language and enjoy some dry wit give it a shot. I would love to read an updated edition since this was written in the 90’s I feel like so much has changed since the ubiquity of the internet and globalization English is changing in a different way than predicted. There was a fun nod to my hometown, Rexburg, ID in here which felt random and a little exciting. I had to rewind it to let my husband hear it.
