I am still on my Greek mythology streak. I read Circe earlier, but I think I liked Achilles even more. Miller’s storytelling is beautiful. She stayed close to Homer’s version (from what I have read, since I could not tell you myself). She takes a side character, Patroclus in this case, and dives deep into creating his world and his own story.
We already know the ending going in, but I really appreciated how Miller chose to close the story. I loved the love story woven through this one, and I will not spoil it by saying more. If you enjoy Greek mythology and do not mind a longer read, this was an excellent retelling.
