“The Story of My Teeth” was definitely an…interesting read. Can’t say I’ve read anyting I can quite compare it to. The narrative style feels a bit like it’s lost something in translation, lending to a sense of confusion. That might just be inherent to the original Spanish as well, not sure. It straddles the line between seeming like a memoir and delving into more fantastical elements, which had me double-checking whether it was fiction or non-fiction—it turns out, it’s fiction. While I can’t say I loved it, the book’s unique approach and quirky content are likely to spark some lively discussions in our next book club meeting.
