What a ride! First off, I loved the setting, a cold island near Antarctica where they keep the seeds of the world frozen. I loved the characters, and the interludes from the youngest character who loves seeds and botanicals were some of my favorite parts. Maybe itโs because Iโm in my plant era, but I loved learning all the little facts about rare seeds..
It is a dark thriller with heavy plot lines. The twist was great and tied everything together in a satisfying way. I feel mixed on the ending, and without giving away spoilers, I will say that it feels like it is probably what had to happen. The climate change elements were heavy and necessary.
A tense, atmospheric read with a setting and concept I will be thinking about for a while.
